Spidey-senses leads Marvel Studios to Cymba

The brief:

Marvel Studios was ramping up its promotional campaign for the new Spider-Man movie, Spider-Man No Way Home, and in partnership with M&Ms, wanted a retail promotion to simply and cost-effectively deliver physical and digital prizes to winners. Marvel Studios had previously engaged a call centre to collect winners' postal details for physical prizes. However, this hadn’t been as effective as they had hoped.

The challenge:

There was a tight deadline to meet, and we immediately began creating potential solutions. Our favourite was a bespoke text-to-win promotion with a microsite and SMS for engagement and to deliver prizes. The Cymba team immediately began enhancing our competition software, microsite capabilities and SMS broadcast processing to meet the brief.

The solution:

The text-to-win promotion was rolled out online and in retail stores UK wide with two differently-branded microsites collecting winners’ details. Prizes were delivered by SMS that directed people to the microsite, where they could claim their digital prize or enter postage details to receive their physical prize.

The outcome:

Our text-to-win, SMS, and microsite solution achieved a higher winner claim rate in comparison to past call-centre contact attempts. Strong branding and an excellent user experience helped to win the confidence of people claiming their prizes. As well as achieving better results, we also saved the client budget, with our solution costing significantly than previous call-centre campaigns.
